So now let us get started and check out the 10 types of decision making which are taken in every organization that is working on this planet.

1) Programmed Decision

The programmed decision is also termed as rooting decision or structured decision. These are repetitive in nature and are often taken in the organization.

The lower level management is responsible to take the programmed decisions in the organization.

Example: Placing the order for the raw materials etc.

2) Non-programmed Decision

The non-programed decision is also termed as the unstructured decisions and these are taken by the top level management.

Careful analysis is done before taking this kind of decisions taken by the top level management.

Example: Introduction of a new product to the market.

3) Operational Decision

The decisions which are to be taken by the organization related to the day to day operations are called as the operational decisions.

Example: Working hours of the organizations.

4) Organizational Decision

When a decision is taken for the welfare of the organization then it is called as the organizational decision.

Example: Hiring more employees.

5) Minor Decision

Minor decisions are taken by the lower level management and these are related to the purchase of the assets with lesser value.

Example: Purchase of stationery products.

6) Major Decision

Major decisions are taken by the top level management and these are related to the purchase of assets with more value.

Example: Purchase of machinery, building etc.

7) Certain Decision

A decision will be termed as a certain decision if the manager knows the exact outcome of the decision he has taken.

Example: Profit by increasing the sales value of the product.

8) Uncertain Decision

When the manager or the person taking the decision is not aware of the exact outcome of his decision then it will be termed as the uncertain decision.

Example: Marketing of a new product.

9) Personal Decision

When an employee takes a decision for his personal welfare then it will be termed as a personal decision. This kind of decisions will not affect the functioning of the organization in any way.

Example: Taking leave, resignation etc.

10) Group Decision

When any decision is taken by a group of people in the organization then it is called a group decision.

Example: Decision taken by the employees regarding any departmental issues.
