How to Use Jupiter Money Account for UPI Payments?

Since UPI or the Unified Payment Interface has been introduced in India. The frequency we use our debit cards for making payments has come down drastically. Almost everyone prefers UPI for making the payments. In this guide, I will tell you how you can use Jupiter Money account for UPI Payments.

As you know you can use the Jupiter Money app to open a bank account for yourself. And for this account, you need not visit any branch of the bank.

But do you know which bank is hosting your Jupiter Money bank account?

Let me tell you about it. Your account is hosted by Federal Bank. So while you link or add your account to any UPI-enabled app. You will have to select Federal Bank as your bank.

Why?

The reason is simple and that is Jupiter Money is not a bank. The company is not licensed to operate as a bank in India by RBI. So the customers opening the account using the app are provided with an account in Federal Bank.

Ways to Use Jupiter Money Account to Make UPI Payments

There are two ways to use your Jupiter Money account to make UPI transactions. The first way is by using the official app of Jupiter itself.

And the second way is by using any UPI-enabled app like PhonePe, Paytm, GPay, etc. I have explained both the ways below. You can use the one which you feel is good for you.

Using the Jupiter Money App

  1. Open the official app of Jupiter Money and login into your account.
  2. Tap on the “Scan and Pay” button.
  3. Scan the QR code.
  4. Enter the amount you want to send as a payment.
  5. Enter your UPI PIN to complete the payment.

If you are using the VPA of the beneficiary then open the app → tap on transfers → enter the VPA → enter the amount and complete the payment.

Using Other UPI-enabled Apps

  1. Open the UPI-enabled app that you want to use.
  2. Go to the Payment Settings → Bank Accounts.
  3. Tap on Add Bank Account.
  4. Select the SIM card of your registered mobile number.
  5. Choose the name of the bank as “Federal Bank” and add your Jupiter account.
  6. Now start the payment and choose your Federal Bank account to complete the payment.

Conclusion

Please make sure you don’t approve the payment requests from unknown people. And never share your UPI PIN and other passwords with anyone. The officials from Jupiter Money or Federal Bank will never ask for such details of your account.
