Before we proceed further you should understand one thing. And that is where we are not referring to your “UPI PIN”. But we are referring to the password that you enter to access the PhonePe app.
If you have enabled biometric login then you might have not noticed this password. So please don’t get confused between your PhonePe password and your UPI PIN of any connected bank account.
When you change your password you will not be charged anything by PhonePe. So you need not worry about the charges and you should keep changing your password frequently.
There is only one way to change your password and that is with the help of the official app of PhonePe. So you should never enter your account details in any third-party app or website.
If you do it then you are exposing your account details. Make sure you have the official app of PhonePe installed on your smartphone.
If not then install it from the official sources only. In case you are an Android user then install the app from Play Store. And in case you are an iOS user then the only way you can install the app is using the App Store.
Steps to Change PhonePe Password
- Open the PhonePe app on your smartphone.
- Login to your account.
- Tap on your “Profile Picture” on the left-hand side of the app interface.
- Scroll down and tap on “Change Password”.
- Now enter your old password and tap on the “Proceed” button.
- After that set your new 4 digit password and tap on the “Confirm” button.

This is how you can change your password if you remember it. But in case you have forgotten it. Then use the “Forgot Password” option. When you use that option you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter that OTP and then you will be allowed to set your new password.
