You can use Amazon Pay to send and receive payments via the UPI platform. Amazon is known to give you reasonable offers and cashback when using the app for UPI payments. Whenever you link your bank account with Amazon Pay you will be assigned a UPI ID. In this guide, I will walk you through the process to change the UPI ID of Amazon Pay.
The option to change the UPI ID which is the VPA comes in handy when you want to have an ID that can be easily remembered. You can create or add a maximum of 3 different UPI IDs for your bank account linked with Amazon Pay.
Here you should keep in mind that you can receive payments via UPI using all the three UPI IDs. But when you are making a payment then your “Primary UPI ID” will be used. Here Amazon or your bank will not charge you anything extra to change or create a new UPI ID.
- Open the Amazon India shopping app.
- Go to “Amazon Pay” → “Amazon Pay UPI”.
- Tap on “Manage UPI IDs” under “Your Linked Bank Accounts”.
- Now select “Add ID” to change your UPI ID to a new one.
- Enter a New UPI ID that you wish to have and tap on “Create UPI ID”.
When you create a new UPI ID it will be automatically set as your Primary UPI ID. There is no option to change your primary UPI ID.
So if in case you wish to do it then you will have to deregister for Amazon Pay UPI” and again register back with your bank account. The process will not take more than 2 minutes of your time.
